Simon Reeve is an award-winning Australian television presenter and journalist with an illustrious career in broadcast journalism spanning over four decades.

Born in Perth in September 1961, Reeve started his career as a cadet sports journalist with TVW 7 in 1979. He then moved to London to take up a position with Visnews covering sport’s biggest events including Wimbledon and the Le Mans 24 hour race. On return to Perth, Simon picked up with the current affairs program ‘State Affair’. In 1985 he won a Penguin award for his story on debt-laden farmers in Victoria while working for the nightly current affairs show ‘Day by Day’.

Throughout his career as a journalist, Reeve has worked on great projects as a Reporter/Presenter with a number of media houses such as Day by Day (7 Melbourne), America’s Cup (7 Perth), the iconic science and technology series Beyond 2000, Wild Life with Olivia Newton and Good Medicine for Channel 9, Quizmaster, 1030 Morning News, Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise, It’s Academic and Million Dollar Minute for Channel 7.

Reeve was also part of the 7 Commentary team for both the Athens and Beijing Olympics, covering equestrian and gymnastics.

His passion for wildlife led him to move to Botswana with his family in 1999, where he established Kwando Productions and co-produced the television series Mad Mike and Mark that was broadcast internationally on Animal Planet.

Reeve has also represented various organisations as an Ambassador working for causes that are close to his heart. He’s been an Ambassador for Heartkids since 2001 after his son Sam was born with complex CHD. Given his love for Africa, he’s also an Ambassador for Painted Dogs Conservation Inc that works towards protecting Africa’s most endangered large carnivore. Reeve was an Ambassador for the Be Centre from 2013 to 2020.

More recently, Reeve has been focusing on his work as a wildlife and environmental advocate. He is also a passionate photographer and capable videographer and editor, with a keen interest in birds.
